In most boom positions, the last and next to the last boom arm are showing downwards. The concrete flow will interrupt and the concrete falls vertically into this elbow. That causes an extremely high impact wear. We recommend using one impact elbow for pumps up to three boom arms. By four and more boom arms two impact elbows should be used. A comparably high wear load occurs with the 90-degree elbows in the turret. Due to the pulsating pump thrust, similar effects can occur as with the impact elbows in the boom. In this case here we recommend the use of special turret elbows. Contact us – we are gladly to advice you. The second last elbow in the boom is exposed to extremely high wear.
